When I did a brief stunt as a stand-up comedian in Toronto, mostly doing the amateur nights at clubs like The Laugh Resort (what haven’t you done Pedram?), I never dreamed there was another eyeranian doing the same thing, particularly a female one. Afsaneh Bahrami is doing just that and much more. She is a performer, artist and all out talented Torontonian with a new web site called writersblot. Take a few minutes and check her out.

In case you are interested, when I was trying to get people to laugh at my “what’s a half-way house? is that where they take girls who don’t go all the way?” jokes, other talents doing the rounds of Toronto clubs included people like Mike Myers, Jim Carrey and the least appreciated but arguably the most talented one of them; Colin Mochrie.

Go Afsaneh! Hope you make it just as big as some of these guys have.
