Marry Me!

with 2 comments

Finally saw Two Women. Okay, let’s be honest here; I’m in love with Fereshteh. The smart unconventional small-town girl character played by Niki Karimi is just absolutely fantastic. Granted it helps to have been portrayed by Niki (who can help but to be mesmerized by these eyes?) but the intelligent outspoken yet kind, fun and humble Fereshteh is every thinking heterosexual man’s fantasy.

So, here it is, I’m already on one knee: If there’s a real life bona-fide flesh and blood Fereshteh type out there, MARRY ME!

I decided long ago that I was done with this “dating” business. What is the point? Everyone portrays themselves completely differently while dating anyways. Either conforming too much to please the other person, or play games to come across as unattainable and “superior” in one way or another. You’d only truly know anyone AFTER living with them for at least 10 years (20 preferred) and even then there are no guarantees their personality, wants and requirements wouldn’t change. So, let’s just dive in, cross our fingers and freefall into marriage. We’ll make it work, or at least try really hard.

Apparently I’m worth about $34,000 which is not exactly a fortune but should provide for a down payment on a small abode somewhere in this beautiful land of Blogistan. You are obviously smart and bright enough to have a half-decent job. So much for practicalities then. What else is left? Oh love? What is that anyways? Still the fantasy of a knight in shining armor riding in on a white horse to make off with your heart and cause your knees to tremble by just thinking of him? Get real, wake up and come down to earth. Hope for someone that wears ties with no large food stains, drives a Daewoo, the likeable kind that knows where to find a great place for seafood that doesn’t have lobster or red in its name, and now we’re talking.

What do you say? Let’s do it!

Oh, loved the movie too.
