  1. Pedram:
Thanks a lot for sharing this with us. I have a lot of mixed feeling seeing this short documentary, most of all it made me remember and think. I will share more when I can actually analyze my thoughts.

  2. Great video, though (expectedly) a very limited perspective…

The most poignant part for me was the typical “over-philosophizing” and the overwhelming sense of “analysis” in the absence of true joy in the youths’ words or deeds. Just about everyone, maybe with the exception of the prospective bride, seemed genuinely (clinically?) depressed and/or, overtly or not, resigned to their circumstances… Then again, that may be how you get by day by day!?

    Keep ‘em coming!

  3. I agree with Nobody to some extend… I think the fact that the youth there have so much time on their hands for such in depth analysis of “success” is a sign of life being out of balance.
I had not traveled to Iran for about 10 years, but then in the past 2 years I have been back 4 times.
The first time was quite a shock, and I saw a paradigm shift in almost everything. I still think that our generation (the ones born in 60’s and early 70’s) still have a different perspective of life and success regardless of our location. However the newly youth (if I can call them that) are totally out of my norm. They are at the very 2 ends of the spectrum. Either too deep or too shallow! Either way is difficult for me to get. But maybe that is the new normal, and besided who am I to judge?

  4. I thought it was a very good doc. It’s my humble opinion that ths state of the youth as expressed in this video was inevitable. When you repress, take away freedoms, distort the truth and manipulate the media, you will get millions of people who tend to lose hope and lose direction in their lives. They will fill that in positive and negative ways. However this is what the theocracy prefers, it’s obvious. They don’t want an empowered youth, they want them as handicapped as possible. Very sad.
