The Amrikaee Magazine campaign to get the message out that yet another war, this time with Iran, is not in the benefit of freedom, prosperity or health of either country, is slowly getting some attention. It got picked up by a local radio station here last week and now I notice it in some of the least likely and unexpected outlets, including blogs and smaller news sites, such as this one at Arora Clan.

Interestingly, there is one place it is yet to be reflected in and that is any of the thousands of Iranian websites, blogs or mainstream media! Although baffled, I don’t want to speculate as to why that is. In a brief polling of close friends I heard every excuse from the usual “fear or backlash”, “illegality of stickers by-law” and “not wanting to promote what might be seen as competition” all the way down to the usual suspicious-minded outlook of a “Jewish Conspiracy” and worst.

Whatever it is, I hope that Iranian-Americans, along with the rest of those in this greater society (regardless of their ethnic backgrounds, religious belief and partisan politics) can put aside their petty squabbles and realize that an upcoming confrontation, even if extremely unlikely and outside of the expected realm of things, is of such devastating consequences for both sides that even a very long shot 1% possibility of it needs to be confronted, exposed and stopped immediately, before it gets a chance to grow.
