I must say that I was extremely worried about going to a DSL connection after being spoiled for so many years by using cable. This was deepened by the slow and unpredictable DSL connection my work uses as a backup to their other unpredictable and slow network. However, I am finding the speed more than adequate and connection always stable. Today I'm getting 1.1 megabits per second of speed, more than I'd ever need. My one pet peeve so far is how I basically need to re-connect every time my PC is turned off or even goes on automatic standby mode to save energy. So, if you are also apprehensive about trying DSL, I say go for it but make sure you insist on a month trial period as your local service may not be as first-rate.
