Just When...

Just when you think you have seen it all...

A rally in support of Michael Jackson in Iran.

Thanks S.

This is funny. It's more like a rally for the camera than a real demonstration. Notice where they're all standing. It's some obscure place in the mountains, probably off a highway. They have good reasons for doing that too!!! But it can't be a protest in the "traditional" sense. :)

Yeah, I agree with Alireza. It looks pretty "namaayeshi" rather than the actual thing. The photographer must have put them up to this. Poor gullible kids.

Oh, come off it. Love of Michael Jackson is worldwide, and there are serious cults of various media heroes in the oddest places, like a worn cassette of the Jackson 5 or Thriller can wake up all the people at the truckstop in almost any city in the world.

Since when did musicians and artists have to act and look like everybody else?

Anyhow, the protest in support of a US musician is probably not without some risk, and even so, his fans come out and so gain practice in free speech, and water their own local grassroots. Bravo, kids.

This is really bad but it is on topic.
Q. What does Micheal Jackson have in common with Wallmart this Christmas?
A. They both have boys pants half off.

"What's the problem with Michael Jackson, Bro?"

(From the movie which ends with people fleeing to freedom and safety into Iran as U2's "In God's Country" plays in the background.)
