The Arar Inquiry
This story receives almost no coverage in U.S. and I hope this newest effort by NDP will cause some publicity for those in this country who still believe personal freedoms and accountability, along with social justice are the values far greater in importance than this fake and bogus security concerns causing limitations and suffering put on innocent people from around the world.
This is the story of a Canadian that while traveling from Tunis to Montreal had to change planes in NYC and that is where he was detained and within days got deported to Syria, that great Mecca of democracy and our partner in fighting terrorism. He was jailed and tortured for over a year, with not a single shred of evidence tying him to anything even suspicious. You can read the rest on the site linked above.
