Axis Of The Apocalyptic

Axis Of The Apocalyptic

"The Hindus, Jews and Christians versus the Moslems of the world today and the Confucians of China tomorrow. This is nothing less than the Axis of the Apocalyptic."

It's not like confucianism is going to have anything to do with anything for a while. There might be a US/China economic rivalry at some point soon, but I can't see confucianism coming into it myself.
I don't buy all the Clash of Civilisations stuff though - too simplistic. Doesn't take Belgium into account :o)

The rhetoric here is wildly overblown. "Axis"? India, the US and Israel have some overlapping interests (economic more than political), and in those areas they cooperate.

But India is in no way a political or military "ally" of the US. You know who IS? Moslem Turkey, and the Moslem countries of the Gulf. Turkey is Israel's ally too (in every sense of the word). Iran was once Israel's friend as well; Sharon and any Israeli leader would ditch India for Iran in a heartbeat if the Islamic Republic got a dose of realism.

If Osama and what he represents fades, the "axis" you fear will never see the light of day. If they don't, you can add "Confucian" and post-Christian (European) to the axis as well. A smallish number of wealthy fanatics would have managed to unite the entire non-Moslem world against the hapless peoples among whom they live.

Hope not.
